We run an English immersion camp for six weeks each summer. The camp is for students ages 5-15 years old and consists of 4 stations: Art, Games, Story, and Songs. Native English speaking volunteers run these stations each summer, aided by local Counselors in Training who are past the age of campers, but still want to be involved. Sometimes our local teachers play a role as well. English is a highly beneficial skill for our students, especially since they live in an area where tourism is a main source of income. However, it is not a required part of the schools’ curriculum until 5th grade. Summer English camp is completely optional.
Please e-mail Volunteer@EsperanzaMeansHope.org if you'd like to get involved.
